Celebrating Excellence in Infrastructure and Social Impact

These nominations reflect our commitment to public health, environmental sustainability, and innovative Community-Based Public-Private Partnerships (CBP3s).

Best Utilities Project

The EquiFlow Lead-Free Program has been nominated for Best Utilities Project, highlighting its transformative impact on the City of Wausau's water infrastructure. This $60 million program, a collaboration between CIP and Wausau Water Works, aims to eradicate all 8,000 lead service lines (LSLs) in Wausau by 2028, reducing costs and accelerating timelines. The project's innovative financing structure, community-based approach, and commitment to using local and minority-owned businesses set it apart as a national model for other communities facing similar challenges.

Impact Award

In addition to improving infrastructure, the EquiFlow program has been recognized for its Social Impact. This nomination honors the program's holistic approach to community engagement, public health, and economic development. Through partnerships with local organizations such as the Hmong and Hispanic Communication Network (H2N) and the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS), the program ensures equitable outreach and participation among Wausau’s diverse communities. By fostering trust and building capacity, the EquiFlow program is not only delivering safe drinking water but also driving broader social and economic improvements.

At CIP, we are proud to lead the way in creating lasting, positive change in the communities we serve. The P3 Awards nominations are a testament to the dedication and innovation of our entire team, and we remain committed to building a healthier and more resilient future for Wausau and beyond. Wish us luck for the awards ceremony on October 24, 2024.
